Service Description
This American Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid course is designed for Illinois security officers, supervisors, and protective service personnel who may be required by employer policy or contract standards to maintain current lifesaving certifications. Security professionals in Illinois frequently serve as the initial on-scene responder to medical emergencies occurring at workplaces, residential properties, public venues, and critical infrastructure sites. This course provides the practical skills, legal awareness, and confidence needed to respond effectively while operating within Illinois workplace safety expectations and employer protocols. Students receive hands-on instruction in: Adult, child, and infant CPR Proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) Bleeding control, shock management, and injury care Recognition and response to common medical emergencies Incident response considerations until care is transferred to EMS Training follows current American Red Cross guidelines and emphasizes scene safety, communication, and duty-appropriate response, consistent with the role of private security personnel in Illinois. Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognized American Red Cross certification, which is commonly accepted by Illinois security employers, contractors, and property management firms as proof of CPR, AED, and First Aid competency.
